Spitting Image was a British satirical puppet show which ran on the ITV television network from 1984 to 1996. It was produced by Spitting Image Productions for Central Television. The series was nominated for 10 BAFTA Awards, winning one for editing in 1989.

The series featured puppet caricatures of numerous celebrities who were famous during the 1980s and 1990s. The humour was usually strong and bitingly sharp. British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, then American president Ronald Reagan, and the British Royal Family were the most prominent targets, although hundreds of other celebrities were targeted in an equally disrespectful manner.

Certain countries have been inspired to have similar satirical puppet shows, based on "Spitting Image".

A. It was very funny in the 80's,and now would be the perfect time for a for a come back.Especially with the US elections,Gordon Browns constant cock ups,and the continuing terrorist threat. It would add relief for the public who are frankly getting sick of bad news. Good question.
